WAIT! Not your spouse, I’m talking about a senior pet. ;)
We are setting aside Saturday, January 27th, 2024 to celebrate all our senior furkids! We have lots of things going on in the store to honor them, including:
- Free goodie bag and senior* sales of 10% off all food and 20% off everything else (in addition to our already advertised January sales!) for every senior* pet attending (if your pet isn’t able to make it in, feel free to show us their picture instead!)
- Create a keepsake from your pet’s pawprint! Sue from Stone Pony Pottery will be creating customer Pawprint Mugs from 10-12, check out the details and reserve your spot before they are gone!
- Albert’s Dog Lounge will be making their debut appearance with us with adoptables! From their website: “Albert's Dog Lounge is a foster-based rescue focused on providing loving homes to seniors, special needs, and hospice dogs. We help dogs in need from overcrowded shelters and local families who can no longer care for their pets. Albert's Dog Lounge was established in 2017 with the vision of being the stepping stone to a new life for those dogs who are less likely to be rescued, adopted, or at a higher risk for euthanasia.”
- Check out the many benefits of MagnaWave! Click here to learn more! Lynn will be offering sessions from 11-2, give us a call** to make an appointment!
This day only, Lynn is offering a 10% discount for our senior pets!
Save the date and help us celebrate all our senior pets by joining us on January 27th!

PS: Those of you who know me and my history with pets, know I have a heart for the seniors. Most of my pets have been senior rescues, anywhere from 8 to 15 years when I got them. I always joke that I don’t have puppy energy, so I stick with my “old crew”.
I don’t have puppy energy, that’s true, but I also have a soft spot for those grey muzzles. Out of my 7 pets, I currently have 4 seniors in my house at the moment; two canines, Daisy (age 14) and Phoenix (age 14) and two felines, Walter (age 14) and Harley (age 20+). Adopting senior pets has taught me so very much and filled my heart in ways I never could have imagined.
Bringing a senior pet into your family isn’t for everyone. If you’re considering adopting a senior pet, do some research. Have a long talk with your trusted veterinarian. Find out what kind of things to expect and watch for. Next, be open and honest with the shelter or rescue. Ask lots of questions and be ready to really listen to the answers.
When I adopted Jacques (my oldest rescue at 15yo), my children were still living at home. I was bluntly honest with them that Jacques might be with us two weeks, two months, or two years. My fearful little muppet boy Jacques was with us just over 1.5 years. The heartbreak is real, but the rewards are priceless and worth every tear we shed for them.
*Senior pets are considered 8 years and older
